Creating an Inventory

Creating an Inventory

This tutorial will walk you through adding an item to Inventory. Inventory items reflect what your company consumes and produces.

Start by clicking the Inventory button on the Home Menu.

This will display all items currently in Inventory.

From here click on the Add New Item button.

This will bring up a display to enter details on the new Inventory Item.

Start by giving the Inventory Item a Part Number and a Part Name.

Next, in the Units drop down list, tell us what unit the item is measured in.

The Item Type drop down list will tell us what this item will be used for during production.

  1. General: Indicates this item will be produced from the machining process. General items can also be consumed during production.
  2. Component: Indicates this item will be consumed during the production of a General item.
  3. Material: Indicates this item is a raw material and will be consumed during the production of a General item.

Finally, give an optional Description/Details on the inventory item.

Clicking the Save button will add your item to the inventory list and bring you back to the main Inventory page.

Congratulations! You have successfully added items to your Inventory!

From here you can add another inventory item or edit your existing inventory items.
